Lomagundi Lakeside — Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: May 2026

Introduction

These terms and conditions govern all bookings and stays at Lomagundi Lakeside Association, located on Power Line Road, Kariba, Zimbabwe. By making a booking or staying on our property, you agree to be bound by these terms.

  1. Bookings & Reservations

All chalet bookings must be made in advance. Walk-in availability cannot be guaranteed. Campsite bookings are strongly recommended during school holidays and long weekends. A booking is only confirmed once you have received written confirmation from Lomagundi Lakeside Association. We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion.

  1. Payment

Payment terms will be communicated at the time of booking confirmation. We reserve the right to require a deposit to secure your reservation. Prices are subject to change without notice. The rate confirmed at the time of booking will be honoured.

  1. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations must be communicated to us as soon as possible by email or phone. Cancellation fees may apply depending on the notice given and the time of year. In the event of a no-show without prior notice, the full booking amount may be forfeited. Lomagundi Lakeside Association reserves the right to cancel a booking in exceptional circumstances, in which case a full refund will be provided.

  1. Check-In & Check-Out

Standard check-in time is 12:00 and check-out is 10:00. Early check-in or late check-out may be available on request, subject to availability, and may incur an additional charge. Guests must report to reception upon arrival.

  1. Number of Guests

The maximum number of guests per chalet must not exceed the stated capacity. Additional guests not declared at the time of booking are not permitted without prior approval. Day visitors must be registered at reception and may be subject to a day visitor fee.

  1. Guest Responsibilities

Guests are responsible for treating the property, furnishings, and equipment with care and respect. Any damage caused during a stay is the financial responsibility of the lead guest. Chalets and campsites must be left in a clean and tidy condition upon departure.

  1. Wildlife & Safety

Lomagundi Lakeside is a semi-wild environment. Hippopotamuses are present on the property grounds after dark — guests must carry a torch at night and exercise extreme caution when moving around after sunset. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times, particularly after dark and near the water. Swimming in Lake Kariba is strictly at your own risk; crocodiles and hippos are present in the lake. The swimming pool is also used at your own risk and children must be supervised at all times. Lomagundi Lakeside Association accepts no liability for injury, loss, or death arising from wildlife encounters or swimming in the lake or pool.

  1. Noise & Conduct

Guests are expected to be considerate of others at all times. Noise must be kept to a reasonable level between 22:00 and 07:00. Disruptive, offensive, or threatening behaviour will result in immediate removal from the property without refund.

  1. Pets

Pets are not permitted on the property unless expressly agreed in writing at the time of booking.

  1. Vehicles & Parking

Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk. Lomagundi Lakeside Association accepts no responsibility for theft, damage, or loss of any vehicle or its contents while on the property.

  1. Boat Launch & Water Activities

Use of the boat launch facility is at the guest’s own risk. All guests using watercraft must comply with applicable Zimbabwean maritime regulations. Life jackets must be worn at all times on the water. Lomagundi Lakeside Association accepts no liability for accidents, injury, or loss arising from the use of watercraft or water-based activities.

  1. Loss & Damage to Personal Property

Lomagundi Lakeside Association accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to guests’ personal belongings. Guests are encouraged to take out appropriate travel insurance prior to their visit.

  1. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure to fulfil our obligations where such failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, power outages, flooding, civil unrest, or government-imposed restrictions.

  1. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Zimbabwean courts.

  1. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The current version will always be published on our website.
